Retail Associate Position Overview:

Retail Associate Job Essential Functions: 


The Gainesville, VA, Sales Outfitter will:
  • Provide legendary customer service every time by assisting customers in making buying decisions by identifying and evaluating customers' needs, and making product recommendations based off of this analysis, by providing a legendary customer experience for every customer and promoting Cabela's programs including, but limited to CLUB Membership, Kiosk, VOC and In-Store Pick-up.
  • Assure visual presentation standards are met by upkeep and maintenance to include, but not limited to restock, remerchandising, dusting, and vacuuming sales floor as needed.
  • Respond and handle customer issues by using good judgment and logic in solving problems and making decisions within the job scope.
  • Assist in other areas of the store when business needs dictate, which may include, but not limited to: hunting, fishing, camping, footwear, clothing, gifts, general store, archery, marine, backend, cashier, and deli or bargain cave.


Retail Associate Job Requirements


  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 0 to 2+ years’ experience
  • Hiring preference is given to those with solid sales experience and at least one year of related field experience.


Other Skills/Abilities

  • Must be able to read documents, printouts, reports, computer screens and other written communication.
  • Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with customers and co-workers.
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk to fill orders, assist customers on the sales floor, etc.
  • Must be able to stock product at various racking levels, use step stool or ladder, etc.
  • Must be able to place product on/off shelving.
  • Must be able to write, type and use phone system.

  • The successful job applicant for field service technician position will:
  • Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or modification to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturer’s specifications
  • Repair and replace damaged or worn parts
  • Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment in order to diagnose defects
  • Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles
  • Examine parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometers and gauges
  • Read, understand, and interpret operating manuals, parts manuals, blueprints and technical drawings
  • Overhaul and test machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency
  • Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions using test instruments such as handheld computers, motor analyzers, chassis charts and pressure gauges
  • Inspect and verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to factory specifications
  • Oversee the maintenance of quality standards through visual and mechanical inspection methods
  • Promote a safe work environment by ensuring the group and self follow established safety procedures
  • Oversee the handling and disposing of hazardous wastes, such as toner, oil, antifreeze, transmission fluid, auto parts cleaner, and similar material
