Lake Charles, LA Technology Manager Job Responsibilities:

Lake Charles, LA Technical Engineer Job:

•    One of the members of the unit Operating Team responsible to participate in strategy development, recommends direction, then implement the goals and strategy for the business in which they support.  Other members of the Operating Team are the unit Operations Manager and representatives from Planning & Optimization and Sales and Marketing.  This group has shared responsibility for annual sales revenue and variable cost.  This position has specific responsibility to recommend and implement technology strategy.
•    This position will manage the technology and IP aspects of the License Agreement and is the primary technical interface with the Licensor.
•    This position may serve as Sasol’s representative on industry wide committees such as the EO Safety Committee.
•    Has prime responsibility to develop and coordinate the capital and expense project budgeting for the units.
•    Performs administrative and technical supervision to management the technical resources that support the unit.  This is a multi-disciplinary group consisting of engineers, chemists and technicians.  This group provides technical support to ensure reaching business goals, improve profitability, improve reliability and improve overall operation.  The group identifies, designs, and installs projects and operating changes that significantly improve the reliability, production efficiency, quality, safety, and environmental performance of the operating unit.
•    Provides extremely strong technical knowledge of the assigned unit.  Develops the technical strategy for the business.  Maintains knowledge of unit performance relative to competitive companies and technologies.  Coordinates the sharing of best practices among other SNA units and with similar units within Sasol’s international operations.

Lake Charles, LA Polymer Technical Engineer:

•    Provides extremely strong technical knowledge of the assigned unit. Develops the technical strategy for the business.
•    Maintains knowledge of unit performance relative to competitive companies and technologies.
•    Coordinates the sharing of best practices among other SNA units and with similar units within Sasol’s international operations
•    Identifies and resolves technical operating and reliability problems effectively and efficiently in assigned business units

Lake Charles, LA Technical Engineering Job Requirements:

Lake Charles, LA Technical Engineer Job:

•    Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent field, a Professional Engineering License is beneficial.
•    15 years or greater relevant engineering experience and some managerial experience desired
•    Strong technical experience in EO/EG unit design, operation and technology required.  8 years or more EO/EG experience. Scientific Design technology experience is a plus.
•    Project experience in larger capital investments is beneficial
•    Strong knowledge of chemical manufacturing for the assigned unit highly desired, business and/or operations knowledge desired

Lake Charles, LA Polymer Technical Engineer:

Same as above and…
•    Strong technical experience in either LLDPE or LDPE unit design, operation and technology required.  8 years or more poly ethylene experience. Univation or Exxon Mobil  technology experience is a plus.
•    Experience in both LLDPE and LDPE is beneficial
•    Strong interpersonal skills , managerial skills and team work ability
•    Strong oral and written communication skills

Lake Charles, LA Ethylene Technical Engineering Job:
